1:1 Sessions
Through working alongside your child, private sessions can be tailored specifically to meet their individual needs. I use age-appropriate resources including games, books, craft activities, positive talk, cognitive-behaviour based techniques and counselling skills to help your child accept what they are facing and challenge it. My coaching aims to develop a child’s positive mindset, understand what they are feeling and why, which all helps to create a shift in their behaviour. They will be given guidance on how to deal with their emotions, learn constructive coping mechanisms and grow in self-awareness and confidence.

Teen and Young Person Coaching
The teenage years are some of the most challenging we experience in life. It is a time when they are trying to work out who they are, who they want to be, academic pressures can be overwhelming, relationships are complicated, hormones are raging and emotions run high. There is no wonder “20% of adolescents may experience a mental health problem in any given year. 50% of mental health problems are established by age 14 and 75% by age 24.” – (Mental Health Foundation 2024). Using a range of CBT methods and counselling skills, I can work with young people facing emotional health challenges. Having a safe space to talk issues through, come to terms with what they are feeling and help them to navigate through worrying and troublesome times, I can offer support and solutions.

In School
Working alongside schools I can provide:
- 1:1 sessions on referral – I can provide sessions during the school day with your child in school, if this is agreed by the school beforehand. This is something you must arrange in order to get the school’s approval. Schools will need to provide a safe, private space for the session to take place.
All sessions will last for one hour. They will take place in my therapy room in Burgess Hill (unless school visits are arranged). It is recommended that your child or young person receives a minimum of six sessions for the intervention to be most effective.
I am available by appointment only
Monday-Friday 11am – 7pm
Saturday morning 10-1pm
Prices can be found on Terms and Conditions page
As with all therapies and coaching, there is not a magic wand that can fix everyone’s problems. Growing Mindsets offers a process of working through what the child is facing by understanding it, addressing it and finding solutions. Coaching can be very helpful for many people, but there is not a guarantee of a “fixed” person. It depends heavily on the person wanting to change or be helped, in order for them to eventually be able to see a way through. The most successful work will be achieved by me building a mutually trusting relationship with your child. This will enable them to feel secure, in order for them to share their challenges with me.
